The following illustrates our demo client directory and a patch file (update3x.pm) that will effectively bring out version 1.0 application to version 3.0 and conserve 50% of our bandwidth or more. Calling the patcher without any command line parameters will display the available switches and options for the command line utility as illustrated below. We now proceed to call the pathcer utility by specifying that want verbose output of al activity and the name of the patch file itself.

Verbose output keeps us informed every step of the process from integrity check to completion. We now see the Client executable has been patched to the new version while conserving 69% of unnecessary bandwidth usage.
