ASTA InterOP (AstaIO) 1.5 for Windows and Linux
AstaIO allows Delphi developers to create thin client, secure, scalable database
applications that run over the Internet or any tcp/ip network. No DLL's
or setup of any kind is required on the client. AstaIO clients can use tcp/ip, http or
any other transport including a shared memory/string transport that allows you to compile
clients and servers in the same EXE with no tcp/ip. AstaIO Application Servers can be used
in ISAPI applications for added security and scalability. AstaIO is proud to be part of
Project Dionysus.
AstaIO is an all-new n-Tier product, redesigned from the ground up.
Built on the ASTA tradition, it can be used with Delphi V5,V6,V7
Professional or Kylix Desktop. Delphi Enterprise is NOT required nor is
Kylix Server edition. For more information, see the AstaIO FAQ, the
list of Servers and Transports. SOAP support is included in AstaIO 1.5 for servers and clients.
AstaIO includes the high performance AstaIO cross platform Native Sockets for tcp/ip and http support along
with a UDP transport especially designed for wireless applications and unreliable networks.
Clients and Servers can be mixed and matched. Java servers and
clients are available as well as a thin client ODBC driver and type 3 JDBC Driver and handheld clients.
AstaIO is a cross platorm application framework that allows you to support Palm and WinCE Clients today.
AstaIO supports the IProvider Interface so MIDAS/DataSnap developers
will be able to code AstaIO servers with techniques they are accustomed
to with AstaIODataSetProviders and AstaIOClientDataSets.
